This came out of a 1995 volvo 850. This unit offers a 30day functionality warranty. This may fit other years too, asalways with this type of component your best bet is to match the partnumber to the one on your original ECU. A faulty ECU is one of the mostcommon no start or random stalling problems with these cars. These canalso cause issues with erroneous checkengine lights as well as emission control & cold or hot startproblems. This is also commonly the issue if the car randomly dies, but lateron starts and runs fine. An erroneous check engine light is especiallyproblematic, as the car will not pass the emissions portion of the testat the annual state inspection.If your car does not have theseissues but you intend to keep it a while, I recommend our customerskeep an extra ECU in the trunk. These units now have to be specialordered from most dealers new for big $$ (often times over $1000!). Even now finding a good onesecond hand is getting to be quite difficult as these cars get older. Most Volvo 850 ECU’s are located in “the black box” on the right side of the engine bay. They are easy toaccess, all you need is a 8MM wrench to remove the lid, once inside they have quick connectors and will slide right out!
